Defesa: Curitiba, 12/08/2016 / Inclui referências : f. 160-165 / Resumo: A presente dissertação, intitulada "Entre rezas e saberes: histórias e memórias da fundação e consolidação do Colégio Paroquial Nossa Senhora do Carmo (Paranavaí, 1952-1971)", apresenta uma narrativa histórica sobre a referida instituição escolar, de caráter confessional católico e carmelita, situada na cidade de Paranavaí, região noroeste do Estado do Paraná, sul do Brasil. O recorte temporal delimitou-se entre os anos de 1952, momento fundacional, e 1971, considerando a promulgação da LDB 5.692, e o período em que a instituição ofertou também o ensino de 2.º grau. Caracteriza-se como uma problemática-chave que norteou a presente pesquisa a seguinte questão: quais acervos foram preservados pela instituição e o que se pode verificar sobre a memória daqueles que a frequentaram? Como desdobramento, surgiram algumas perguntas secundárias, mas não de menor importância: quais estratégias e táticas envolveram a implantação do colégio na região? O que levou a Ordem religiosa, que não possui a educação em seu carisma fundante, a fundar a supracitada instituição escolar? Como se deu o processo de formação e consolidação do colégio na cidade de Paranavaí, coincidindo ambas as trajetórias? Sobre referencial teórico, optou-se pelas ponderações de Michel de Certeau sobre os conceitos de lugar, espaço, estratégia e tática, para a compreensão das ações de implantação e desenvolvimento da instituição. Por sua vez, o conceito de apropriação de Roger Chartier também serviu de base para esta pesquisa. Por fim, o conceito de memória proposto por Jacques Le Goff e Jöel Candau auxiliaram para a compreensão da constituição de uma memória institucional. Utilizou-se a História Oral como metodologia de trabalho para registro das narrativas de memórias daqueles que frequentaram a instituição escolar. Nestes termos é que a presente pesquisa busca compreender, em documentos e nas memórias, vestígios da história do Colégio Paroquial Nossa Senhora do Carmo, que desempenhou significativo papel no processo educacional carmelita e, particularmente, paranavaiense. Palavras-chave: História da Educação; Colégio Paroquial Nossa Senhora do Carmo; Carmelitas, Paranavaí; Memória escolar; Instituição escolar. / Abstract: This dissertation, entitled "Between prayers and knowledge: stories and memories of the founding and consolidation of the Parish College of Our Lady of Caramel (Paranavaí, 1952-1971)", presents a historical narrative about the aforementioned Catholic school institution, -co and Carmelite, located in the city of Paranavaí, northwest region of the State of Paraná, southern Brazil. The time cut was limited between the years 1952, the founding moment, and 1971, considering the enactment of LDB 5,692, and the period in which the institution also offered secondary education. It is characterized as a key problem that guided the present research the following question: what collections were preserved by the institution and what can be verified about the memory of those who attended it? As a result, some secondary questions arose, but not of minor importance: what strategies and tactics involved the establishment of the college in the region? What led the religious Order, which does not have the education in its founding charism, to found the aforementioned school institution? How did the process of formation and consolidation of the college take place in the city of Paranavaí, coinciding both trajectories? On theoretical reference, Michel de Certeau's considerations on the concepts of place, space, strategy and tactics were chosen to understand the institution's implementation and development actions. On the other hand, the concept of appropriation of Roger Chartier also served as the basis for this research. Finally, the concept of memory proposed by Jacques Le Goff and Jöel Candau helped to understand the constitution of an institutional memory. Oral History was used as a work methodology to record the memory narratives of those who attended the school institution. In these terms, the present research seeks to understand, in documents and in the memoirs, vestiges of the history of the Parish College of Our Lady of Carmel, which played a significant role in the Carmelite educational process, and particularly in Paraná.
