Previous issue date: 2007 / O presente estudo investigou a influência do processamento semântico na produção de
falsas memórias no paradigma DRM.
No
No
__________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This study investigated the influence of semantic processing on false memories results
in the DRM paradigm. The procedure of dichotic listening was used to manipulate
attention focus to material of different semantic levels. In the first experiment, lists
appeared on the unnatended channel, half of participants shadowing meaningless words
and the other half shadowing prose. In the second one, the channels were inverted - all
participants shadowed DRM, while on the other channel either meaningless words or
prose were presented. Higher false and accurate recognition rates were observed in the
second experiment. Recognition of old and critical lures were higher when lists were
presented together with the meaningless words. It was concluded that semantic
processing plays an important role in DRM results.
