Previous issue date: 2015 / Capes / A proposta desta tese é compreender a mobilidade territorial de famílias de agricultores
do Sertão Paraibano verificando se a mesma é constituinte das condições de reprodução
social e de diferenciação social bem como de processos de transformação dos territórios
por onde estes circulam. Buscou-se analisar as transformações no mundo do trabalho
canavieiro e seus efeitos nas famílias de trabalhadores migrantes; compreender as
transformações no meio rural do Sertão Paraibano nos últimos 30 anos; compreender a
experiência da migração em diferentes gerações de agricultores. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa que busca combinar diferentes técnicas como observação direta, análise de histórias de vida e utilização de dados secundários, numa perspectiva sincrônica e diacrônica. Como achados desta pesquisa observa-se que as transformações territoriais ocorridas nas últimas décadas convivem com a diversidade de situações de acesso à terra e trabalho das famílias de agricultores estudados. / This thesis is about the territorial mobility of small farmers families and migrant workers
from Sertão Paraibano as making of their conditions of social reproduction and social
differentiation as well as the processes of transformation of the territories throughout they
circulate. In this sense it has tried to understand the changes in the Sugarcane Mills and
its effects over such families; it has tried understand the changes in the rural areas of
Sertão da Paraíba in the last 30 years; and to analise the experience of migration in
different generations of small farmers and migrants workers. It is a qualitative research
that seeks to combine different approach such as etnographic, oral history and secondary
data, in a synchronic and diachronic perspective. As findings of this research it is
observed that the territorial transformations in recent decades coexist with the diversity
of land access situations and work of families farmers.
