Hur har digitaliseringen påverkat antal anställda inom finanssektorn? / How has digitalization affected the number of employees in the finance sector?

This thesis explores the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) on the Swedish labor market, focusing on the finance sector. It examines how digitalization has transformed job roles and the implications for various demographics, including gender and age differences. The study uses a desk research method, analyzing data from existing studies and reports, with a quantitative approach to assess trends and patterns. Key theories like Solow's growth model, human capital theory, and Schumpeter's concept of creative destruction are utilized to understand the dynamics of technological advancement in the finance sector. The findings highlight both opportunities and challenges digitalization bring, such as job creation in some areas and job losses in others, particularly in routine and administrative roles. This paper concludes that the general effect of Sweden becoming more digital, on employment numbers for the different professions in the finance sector is positive. The thesis also discusses the need for adapting educational and training systems to the evolving digital landscape.
