Previous issue date: 2007-11-30 / The main objective of the present study is to comprehend the articulation between
the love relationships and the work schedule of the firefighters, and it aims
specifically to investigate how the military firefighters experience their love
relationships; to get to know the firefighters work schedule; and to articulate the
aspects of the firefighters work schedule and their love relationships. This is a
phenomenological research based on references by Merleau-Ponty (1945). Two
instruments of data collection were used, the field observation at the Fire Brigade
Headquarter, from where the seven subjects who collaborated with the research
emerged, and were submitted to phenomenological interviews with a semi-structured
script. The results indicated that the firefighters experience of love relationships are
interposed by their work schedule in the proportion that they root in the world and
they are rooted by it, being constituted mutually. It was possible to verify that the
firefighters work schedule has multiple meanings, among them the fact that the
society places them as heroes stands out. In this sense, it was possible to evidence
in this study that there is na ambiguous experience between this role of hero that the
population uses to attribute to the firefighter and the experience of love they come
across in their relationships.
Keywords: love relationships, firefighters, phenomenology. / O presente estudo tem como objetivo geral compreender a articulação entre as
relações amorosas e o cotidiano de trabalho dos bombeiros e propõe-se,
especificamente, a investigar como os bombeiros militares vivenciam suas relações
amorosas; conhecer o cotidiano de trabalho dos bombeiros e articular os aspectos
do cotidiano de trabalho dos bombeiros com as suas relações amorosas. Trata-se
de uma pesquisa fenomenológica à luz do referencial de Merleau-Ponty (1945).
Foram utilizados dois instrumentos de coleta de dados: as observações de campo
no Quartel do Corpo de Bombeiros, de onde emergiram os sete sujeitos
colaboradores com os quais foram realizadas as entrevistas fenomenológicas com
roteiro semi-estruturado. Os resultados apontaram que a vivência das relações
amorosas dos bombeiros vêm atravessadas por seus cotidianos de trabalho na
medida em que estes se enraízam no mundo e são por ele enraizados, se
constituindo mutuamente. Verificou-se que o cotidiano de trabalho dos bombeiros
possui múltiplos sentidos, entre eles o que se destacou foi o fato de a sociedade os
colocar no lugar de heróis. Neste sentido, o estudo constatou que há uma
experiência ambígua entre este papel de herói que a população comumente atribui
ao bombeiro e a vivência amorosa com que se deparam em suas relações.
