The aim of this essay is to study in what way the Peruvian government acted to contain the spread of the new Covid-19 virus. The essay has its roots in two policy documents which the government made based on what they believed were the best ways to contain the virus. Because of this the questions have been established on these two specific policy documents and its implementation on the society. The questions are therefore: what type of measures have the government taken? what type of governance has been used? And how are the measures going to be implemented and to what extent of possibility’s are there to implement. The method is a qualitative case study with two perspectives: governance and implementation. The results show that in practice the policy documents have been conducted from a top-down perspective where the government has been the face outwards the population, but different authorities have had tasks presented by the government.
