The evolution of Internet technologies has created innovation in Information Management methods, there including intranet. Organizations implement an intranet to improve the Information Management for increasing organizational efficiency and productivity. Earlier studies have shown intranets contribution to dissolve the hierarchic and control structure in traditional organizations while some researcher has shown the intranet not to be open and social. The problem this study will investigate lies in the over belief on intranet. The aim of this study is to examine employee’s attitudes and the use of intranet in a traditional organization to generalize if traditional organizations make use of the benefits regarding Information Management. The question this study will answer is “How, and for what is the intranet used for by employees in a traditional organization” to examine if employee’s use of intranet fulfills a worth out of an Information Management-perspective. A quantitative method with qualitative elements was used to examine the studies aim. To collect data a survey was created and a System Usability Scale was utilized. The result showed that the users don’t find the intranet usable. The result also showed that employees uses the intranet daily but doesn’t find the content updated, motivated or and hard to find. The generalized conclusion is that the studies result emphasize that the effects on Information Management rather strengthens the hierarchic organizational structure then dissolving it. The intranet in traditional organization shows an opposite effect on Information Management.
