In this student thesis, we aim to clarify digital tools impact on knowledge sharing within an IT-consultant firm. This study has mainly focused on two aspects; the consultants experience of digital tools impact on knowledge sharing within work situations, and the challenges and opportunities that can be identified for organizational knowledge creation in project-based work. Knowledge management and knowledge sharing have long been regarded as one of the main determining factors for organizational success. With the increased use of digital tools in day-to-day work organizations may experience new challenges and opportunities for knowledge sharing practices. In conclusion this study has both found enabling and disabling factors for knowledge sharing in conjunction with IT-consultants' usage of digital tools. Furthermore, this study has identified project-based structures can have inhibiting effects, but a strong and an enabling organizational culture can circumvent this to a certain extent.
