Konstruktionen av ett sommarhus vid mälarens södra strand åt en trebarnsfamilj från stockholmstrakten i ett karaktäristiskt jordbrukslandskap omgivet av karakteristiska ekonomibyggnader från 1700-talet, ombyggda eller under ombyggnad till permanentbostäder eller fritidshus. Landskapsbildens attraktivitet har senast fastslagits av Strängnäs kommun i den inventering av områdets natur- och kulturintressen som ingår i dess grönplan från 2011. De omgivande byggnadernas tillkomst var under sjuttonhundratalet aldrig föremål för en reflektion över det lantliga byggandets estetik - deras tillblivelse var nyttorelaterad och deras placering rationellt motiverad, materialval och byggnadsmetod avgjordes av tillgång, kostnad, och av det lokala hantverkskunnandet. Projektet valt att förstå och utveckla "landsbygdsgrammatiken" som en underliggande materialistisk princip, och således orienterat sig mot en begränsningens logik i sökandet efter ett samtida uttryck. / The construction of a summerhouse at the south shore of lake Mälaren for a family with three children from the Stockholm area in a typical agricultural landscape surrounded by typical farm buildings from the 1700s, rebuilt or under reconstruction to permanent residences or second homes. The attractiveness of the landscape was last established by the Strängnäs municipality in their inventory of the area's natural and cultural interests as part of its green plan from 2011. The surrounding buildings' origins were in the eighteenth century never subject for a reflection on the rural aesthetics of prevention - their genesis were utility-related and their placement rationally justified, materials and construction methods were based on availability, cost, and local craftsmanship. The project chooses to understand and develop the "rural grammar" as an underlying materialistic principle, thus orienting itself toward a logic of limitation in its search a contemporary expression.
