Att röra sig framåt : En studie om lesbiska orienteringar i Stockholm

From a queer phenomenological perspective, this study has examined how lesbian couples relate to a sexualized geography and what strategies they utilize to move in different spaces of the public domain in Stockholm, Sweden. The empirical material that forms the basis of this study consists of three semi-structured interviews conducted with three lesbian couples of different ages and backgrounds. The analysis of the empirical material that was carried out, looked closely at how conflicts and social positioning was articulated in the informant’s testimonies. Among other things, the study concluded that access to lesbian spaces was conditional on the couple’s prerequisites. The distinctive strategies that the couples utilized to move around in the public domain was related to spatial organization, language use and stereotyping.
