Previous issue date: 2013 / Nesta dissertação discuto alguns poucos problemas relacionados ao livre-arbítrio. Entretanto, o problema principal com o qual lido é o problema da compatibilidade entre o determinismo e o livre-arbítrio, o qual chamarei de "o problema do livre-arbítrio e do determinismo". Ele pode ser formulado intuitivamente da seguinte maneira: será que a verdade do determinismo exclui a existência do livre-arbítrio? O incompatibilista pensa que, se o determinismo for verdadeiro, também será verdadeiro que não há livre-arbítrio. Acredito que o incompatibilista está certo, de modo que avanço um argumento a favor do incompatibilismo, o Argumento da Consequência. Este é o principal argumento a favor do incompatibilismo, mas ele enfrenta objeções importantes. Assim, esta dissertação tem três partes. Na primeira parte, discuto alguns problemas relacionados ao livre-arbítrio, tal como ofereço uma formulação do problema do livre-arbítrio e do determinismo. Depois disso, na segunda parte, formulo o Argumento da Consequência. Finalmente, na terceira parte, lido com suas principais objeções.<br> / Abstract : In this dissertation I discuss several problems related to free will. However, the main problem that I deal with is the problem of compatibility between determinism and free will, which I will call "the problem of free will and determinism". It can be formulated intuitively as follows: does the truth of determinism rule out the existence of free will? The incompatibilist thinks that if determinism is true, it is also true that there is no free will. I think the incompatibilist is right, and I put forward an argument for incompatibilism, which is the Consequence Argument. This is the main argument for incompatibilism, but it faces important objections. So this dissertation has three parts. In the first one, I discuss some problems related to free will, and I also offer a formulation of the problem of free will and determinism. After that, in the second part, I formulate the Consequence Argument. Finally, the third part deals with its main objections.
