Vid en nyproduktion på en byggarbetsplats uppgår avfallet till 5-15 % av byggnadsmaterialet. Det finns system att minska byggavfall men ett stort problem är bristen på motivation att införa dem eftersom byggföretagen inte kan se någon kortsiktig förtjänst. Ett steg för att öka motivationen är då att ge personalen utbildning i avfallsminskningsåtgärder och de förtjänster det kan leda till.Syftet är att kortfattat beskriva hur miljöutbildningar kan se ut. Även hur arbetsledning och hantverkare anser att utbildning påverkar deras motivation till källsortering och minsking av avfall under byggprocessen och vad de kan se för hinder till detta.Studien genomfördes som en enkätundersökning och delades ut till ca 60 personer fördelat över fem arbetsplatser. Både ledning och hantverkare har ingått. Telefonintervjuer samt personliga intervjuer har använts för att komplettera enkäterna.Studien visar att utformningen på dagens miljöutbildning inte tycks påverka motivationen, vare sig hos ledning eller hantverkare, att förbättra källsortering och att minska mängden avfall ute på byggarbetsplatser. Däremot anser de som gått miljöutbildning att den påverkat deras arbetssätt med att källsortera och att minska mängden avfall. / At a new production process at a construction site, 5-15% of the total building material becomes construction waste. There are several systems to reduce the construction waste; however, companies don’t recognize the short-term profit hence the lack of motivation to implement them. To educate the personnel in waste disposal is one way to increase the motivation in the implementation of these systems.The purpose of this paper is to describe how environmental education can be designed and also how managers and workers believe that education affects their motivation to waste disposal and the minimizing of construction waste during the production process and what obstacles they might have.A survey has been the methodological tool in require the information that this thesis need. This survey included five different construction sites, and had in total 60 participants, including both managers and workers. To complement this survey, telephone interviews and personal interviews has been conducted.The result from study carried out, shows that today’s education within in this matter, does not influence in the rise of motivation of improving the care of waste disposal, neither for the mangers nor the construction workers. However, the ones required the education consider themselves affected in their way of taking care of waste disposal and their mindset in reducing the amount of construction waste.
