Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka hur gymnasieelever kan bli mer motiverade i historieämnet. Jag har valt att redovisa skillnaden mellan killar och tjejers motivation till historieämnet, framförallt för att se om det finns någon skillnad och i så fall vad den/de är. Undersökningen genomfördes genom en enkät på en gymnasieskola i Lunds kommun, där 55 elever valde att delta. Resultatet visar bl.a. att lärarens undervisningssätt, flexibilitet samt sätt att vara har en stor betydelse för elevernas motivation. Eleverna upplever att deras motivation ökar när de får tydliga instruktioner och när de får vara delaktiga i utformandet av undervisningen och vad som ska studeras. Det blev dock ingen tydlig skillnad i resultatet mellan killarna och tjejerna. Min slutsats blir såldes att läraren genom att variera sin undervisning och låta eleverna få ha inflytande över planeringen och undervisningen ökar elevers motivation för ämnet. / The purpose of this study has been to investigate how upper secondary school students can become more motivated to the subject of History. I have chosen to present the difference between boys' and girls' motivation to the subject History, foremost to see if there is a difference and if that is the case, what that/those is/are. The study was carried through by a questionnaire at a upper secondary school in the municipality of Lund, where 55 students chose to participate. The result proves, among other things, that the teacher’s teaching methods, flexibility and personality are of great importance for the motivation of the students. The students discover that their motivation increases when they get explicit instructions and when they get to participate in the design of the teaching and in what they are going to learn. There were no explicit difference in the result between boys and girls. My conclusion is that the teacher, by making his/her teaching varying and letting the students have influence will increase the students’ motivation to the subject.
