Previous issue date: 2012-04-26 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / Based on elements that form the concept of the nature of Friedrich Nietzsche, this dissertation discusses the meaning of the concept of nature that structure the discourse about the Pantanal in textbooks used in teaching Geography in Mato Grosso do Sul. The textbooks examined project an image of Pantanal as something beautiful, or as part of nature and as a natural resource, which emphasizes the elements where vegetation, climate, topography, water. The human element is largely absent, or is something external that generates environmental impacts or exploits its resources. This image of the same thought is criticized by Nietzsche when he deconstructs the notion of universal subject. It is the image of the world built by the contemplative, sovereign, that believes to be in possession of the truth. The language is the metaphysical concept that is used in this construction. In this sense, it is believed to express what he has Pantanal of essential, the nature. What we mean are the main features of this concept, which reverberates in the sense of nature Pantanal currently present in the minds of people: paradise and natural resources. In both human is not nature. It is something exotic and potential wealth. Human, when part of it, is something foreign to the usual sense of human, the civilized and urbanized. This point Nietzsche's critique stands because it will question what is this human, there is no definition, so there is no such nature as defined by us as strange or object. / Com base em elementos que formam o conceito de natureza de Friedrich Nietzsche, esta dissertação problematiza o sentido geral do conceito de natureza que estrutura os discursos sobre o Pantanal nos livros didáticos de Geografia utilizados no ensino em Mato Grosso do Sul. Os livros didáticos analisados projetam uma imagem de Pantanal como algo belo em si, como parte da natureza ou como recurso natural, no qual se destaca sempre os elementos vegetação, clima, relevo, água, etc. O elemento humano é praticamente inexistente, ou é algo externo que gera impactos ambientais ou explora seus recursos. Essa imagem de pensamento é a mesma criticada por Nietzsche quando ele desconstrói a noção de sujeito universal. É a imagem de mundo construída através do olhar contemplativo, soberano, que acredita estar de posse da verdade. A linguagem conceitual metafísica é a que se utiliza nessa construção. Nesse sentido, acredita-se expressar o Pantanal naquilo que ele possui de essencial, ou seja, a natureza. O que queremos indicar são as características principais desse conceito, a qual reverbera no sentido de natureza pantaneira atualmente presente no imaginário das pessoas: paraíso e recursos naturais. Em ambas o homem não é natureza. Ela é algo exótico e potencialidade de riqueza. O homem, quando faz parte dela, é algo estranho ao sentido usual de humano, que somos nós civilizados e urbanizados. Aí a crítica de Nietzsche se destaca, pois ele vai questionar o que é esse humano, que não existe definição, portanto, não existe essa natureza por nós definida como estranha ou como objeto.
