At present volunteering is highly speculated topic not only in humanitarian organizations, academic environments, or globally widespread non-profit organizations but also on various social networks. It is precisely social networks which reach out youth and constantly spread the idea of traveling and the idea of, so-called, doing good. Although the idea of assisting in destitute countries, mostly located in the global South, might sound good, the efficacy and sustainability of these practices are increasingly questionable. Since the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies operates in the field of development assistance and educates professionals in the area, the presented work brings a short discourse on development issues. This work aims to evaluate practical internships performed at the faculty as a way of education.
