Ledarskapet hos chefer inom offentlig sektor : En kvalitativ intervjustudie om hälsofrämjande ledarskap inom personlig assistans

Background: The concept of health-promoting leadership seems to be perceived in different ways and has different meanings in managers, it has meant that they practice it in different ways in their activities. In the past few years, the management of the public sector has undergone structural changes that have affected their role in the business and that their presence in the business has decreased. This, in turn, has affected the conditions that exist to exercise leadership for the employees' health has also changed Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate the conditions of health-promoting leadership in personal assistance in the public sector.   Method: A qualitative research method with semi-structured interviews was chosen for the study. The selection was targeted and consisted of five managers within personal assistance in the public sector. The interview material was analyzed through a manifest content analysis Result: The present study shows that the public sector has in recent years undergone structural changes that have affected the managers' conditions and their role in the business. The result shows that conditions such as support, resources and the balance between responsibility and authority are important to give managers to facilitate and support their work within the health promotion leadership Conclusion: There is a lack of clarity in the concept of health-promoting leadership, which has meant that it appears in different ways within the operations.
