Previous issue date: 2015 / A presente pesquisa trata de problemáticas concernentes a intervenções realizadas em espaços urbanos da área central de Curitiba a partir dos anos 1970. A abordagem teórica adotada buscou, primeiramente, propiciar uma reflexão que contribua para o entendimento de como a modernização das cidades pode influenciar sua dinamicidade urbana. Além disso, foram descritos exemplos emblemáticos de modernização urbana ocorridos em Paris, Rio de Janeiro e Curitiba. Para se aproximar do objeto principal da pesquisa, também foram conceituadas as áreas relativas ao planejamento e desenho urbano - aqui, tratado como projeto urbano - além da descrição de um panorama acerca do planejamento urbano realizado em Curitiba. Os novos tipos de cidades e territorialidades, assim como as questões relativas aos centros urbanos nas últimas décadas, também receberam especial atenção e análise. Por fim, de modo a adentrar ao objeto principal de estudo, buscou-se analisar os diferentes modos de articulação entre o planejamento urbano para a área central de Curitiba e cada projeto escolhido. Os projetos urbanos foram definidos em virtude da sua importância para a conformação da área central da cidade na atualidade, além da historicidade inerente a cada iniciativa. Assim, foram apresentadas as distintas maneiras de articulação entre cada intervenção e o planejamento incidente, além da ausência dessa mesma articulação em alguns aspectos.<br> / Abstract : This research deals with issues concerning interventions in urban spaces of central area of Curitiba from the years 1970. First, the adopted theoretical approach sought to provide a reflection that contribute to the understanding of how the modernization of cities can influence their urban dynamics. Besides of this, emblematic examples of urban modernization occurred in Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba were described. To approach the main object of the research, were also described the areas related to planning and urban design - here, treated as urban project - beyond the description of a panorama about the urban planning done in Curitiba. The new types of cities and territorialities, as well the issues of urban centers in recent decades, also received special attention and analysis. Finally, in order to come into the main object of study, we sought to analyze the different ways of articulation between the urban planning for the central area of Curitiba and each selected project. The urban projects were defined because of their importance to the conformation of the city?s central area today, beyond the historicity inherent in each initiative. So, the different ways of articulation between each intervention and the incident planning were presented, besides the absence of that same articulation in some aspects.
