Resebeteende : En studie om svenska ungdomars resonemang kring beteenden vid  utlandsresor med koppling till kulturellt-ekonomiskt kapital

The purpose of this essay is to provide a deeper view of young Swedish travellers’ reasoning about how their behaviours vary between holiday stay and their behaviour in home-environment based on cultural and economic capital. One of those theories is taken from Bourdieu. Cultural capital (Education) is one of four forms of capital that Bourdieu has developed in order to determine an individual's social position in the social order. Furthermore, Bourdieu suggests that there is a strong connection between cultural capital and economic capital (e.g. economic assets and working positions). In the thesis, theories, empirics and analysis are divided into three themes, which refer to, economic and cultural capital, which in itself is categorized into high and low, time movement and planned behaviour. To answer the essay's questions and purpose, a study has been conducted based on a qualitative approach. Twelve semi-structured interviews with Swedes aged 18–30 were conducted. The empirical material is coded and summarized based on our purpose and issues. The results shed light on how cultural and economic capital affect differences in behaviour abroad compared to the behaviour in home environment. Thus, the results confirm the theoretical starting points of the study. The respondents assess that cultural and economic capital have a certain significance in certain situations depending on the destination.
