The gambling industry continues to grow, becoming an increasing factor in state economies and a normalized entertainment activity among an increasing share of people. The development poses challenges for the treatment of gambling problems. The Swedish government included reducing gambling problems as a public health goal in 2003. Prevention initiatives are lacking in Swedish schools. The study explores gambling problems prevention as a part of the social science education in the Swedish upper secondary school.
