Previous issue date: 2007-08-23 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The approval on September 1st, 1998 of the Law 9.696 that regulates the Physical Education Professionals and creates the Federal Council of Physical Education (CONFEF) and Regional Council of Physical Education happens in the extent of a dialogue among groups that are favorable to this arrangement among which we can point out the ones which have taken positions at CONFEF and the ones against the regulation that have been articulated around the National Movement Against the Regulation of the Physical Education Professionals (MNCR), deflagrated in the XX National Meeting of Physical Education Students in 1999, due to several meetings promoted during the Student Movement. The presence of a speech that was characterized by the defense of the regulation pros and againsts led us to consider that discussion in the extent of the quarrels in the Physical Education field, having as reference Pierre Bourdieu s concept. The nature of that discussion allowed us to take the theme of the Regulation of the Physical Education Professionals in order to analyze the social historical factors that configured the status of the ones responsible for the teaching of that subject based on António Nóvoa s studies about educational professionalization. To carry out this study, we analyzed the speeches produced in Revista Brasileira de Ciências do Esporte, published by the Brazilian School of Sciences of the Sport (CBCE) since 1979, in Revista E.F., informative instrument of CONFEF since 2001 and in Boletim do MNCR, edited since 2002. Besides, we also examined the documents produced by CONFEF with the purpose of deliberating actions that affect the organization and structuring of that organization and by MNCR, as the Manifests, the Letters and the Unconstitutionality Actions moved against CONFEF. We understood that the speeches in the debate of the Regulation of the Physical Education Professionals characterize this field that concerns the disputes for the definition of a professional identity, in which different conceptions concerning the kinds of knowledge that should support the Physical Educator's formation and the criteria for his selection confront each other, taking into consideration the different possibilities of performance / A aprovação em 1º de setembro de 1998 da Lei nº. 9.696 que regulamenta os Profissionais de Educação Física e cria o Conselho Federal de Educação Física (CONFEF) e os Conselhos Regionais de Educação Física ocorre no âmbito de um debate entre grupos que são favoráveis à medida dentre os quais convém destacar os que vieram a ocupar cargos no próprio CONFEF - e os contrários à regulamentação que se articularam em torno do Movimento Nacional Contra a Regulamentação do Profissional de Educação Física (MNCR), deflagrado no XX Encontro Nacional de Estudantes de Educação Física em 1999, em decorrência de diversos encontros promovidos no seio do Movimento Estudantil. A presença de um discurso que se caracterizou pela defesa de argumentos contrários e favoráveis à regulamentação levou-me a considerar essa discussão no âmbito dos embates travados no interior do campo da Educação Física, tendo como referência o conceito formulado por Pierre
Bourdieu. A natureza dessa discussão permitiu-me, ainda, tomar a temática da Regulamentação do Profissional de Educação Física como uma possibilidade de analisar os fatores sócio-históricos que configuraram o status dos responsáveis pelo ensino dessa disciplina com base nos estudos sobre profissionalização docente de António Nóvoa. Para tal
estudo, foram analisados os discursos produzidos a esse respeito na Revista Brasileira de Ciências do Esporte, publicada pelo Colégio Brasileiro de Ciências do Esporte (CBCE) desde 1979, na Revista E.F , órgão informativo do CONFEF desde 2001e no Boletim do MNCR, editado desde 2002. Além disso, foram examinados os documentos produzidos pelo CONFEF, que afetam a organização e estruturação desse órgão, e pelo MNCR, como os Manifestos, as Cartas e as Ações de Inconstitucionalidade movidas contra o CONFEF. Este estudo compreendeu que os discursos presentes no debate da Regulamentação do Profissional de Educação Física realçam uma marca do campo que diz respeito às disputas pela definição
de uma identidade da profissão dos que nele atuam, nas quais entram em confronto concepções distintas acerca dos principais saberes que deveriam embasar a sua formação e dos critérios para a sua seleção, tendo em vista as diferentes possibilidades de atuação
