In 2019 a virus emerged from the city of Wuhan, China. A few months later, in 2020 itwas declared a pandemic. As a response to the virus, the swedish government imposedrestrictions regarding the amount of people that could be in the same public space. Thepurpose of this study was to examine how the swedish newspapers, Aftonbladet,Expressen, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet framed political figures and therestrictions in their articles. This study implies that the articles are framed in a mannerthat focuses on the responsibility that the society and political figures have to resolvethe issues regarding the restrictions. The newspapers that were examined during thisstudy have had similar framing strategies regarding the restrictions.
