Previous issue date: 2008 / A relação entre a intervenção econômico- social e o ethos predominante no grupo social é explorada no contexto das ações produtivas e de atenção social que se dão num micro processo e num macro processo promovidos respectivamente por uma Organização Não-Governamental (ONG) e por uma empresa, envolvendo três grupos sociais brasileiros. Estudada principalmente com as lentes de Weber, Giddens e Putnam tenta-se responder à questão: como e em que medida a ideologia, os métodos e as formas de intervenção econômico-social podem contribuir para a criação ou preservação de condições favoráveis à modificação ou à manutenção do ethos predominante num grupo social. O estudo sugere que a possibilidade dos processos de intervenção econômico-social
incentivarem o potencial produtivo está fortemente relacionada com a realidade simbólica dos indivíduos e a existência de uma liderança legitimada pelo grupo. Também propõe que as parcerias, mesmo para os grupos que possuem certa densidade do tecido social, podem ser a determinante da materialização de utopias. Nesse processo destaca-se, consensualmente, a liderança (nos modelos estudados ela é feminina) como elemento agregador e fundamental para o sucesso das ações coletivas. A reverência dos investigados à liderança, leva a supor
que o ethos é potencialmente compartilhável pelos membros que formam a comunidade. Dado que o grupo social, cujas ações não exitosas não foi bem representado no conjunto estudado, porque não conseguiu levar a termo a pesquisa quantitativa, os resultados melhor
expressam a tendência acentuada do ethos da autoria. O estudo exploratório aqui empreendido pode motivar outras pesquisas sociais aplicadas no sentido de desenvolver um modelo de avaliação que permita aos alocadores de recursos para o desenvolvimento
econômico de micro e mesorregiões aferirem a natureza de ações e investimentos mais oportunos ao ambiente social para que seu objetivo seja alcançado de forma sustentável. __________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The relationship between economic-social intervention and the predominant ethos in
the social group is explored in the context of productive actions and social attention in a micro and macro process promoted respectively by a Non-Governmental Organization ( NGO) and a business enterprise, involving three Brazilian social groups. Through the lenses of Weber, Giddens and Putnam this study aims to answer the following question: How and to what extent can the ideology, methods and forms of socio-economic intervention contribute to the creation or preservation of favorable conditions for the modification or maintenance of the predominant ethos in a social group? This study suggests that processes of economic-social intervention may foster productive potential if strongly related to the symbolic system of individuals and to the existence of leadership legitimately acknowledged by the group. It also proposes that partnerships, even for those groups that possess a certain
social density, can be determinant in the materialization of utopias. In this process, one can consensually highlight leadership (which, in the models studied, is female) as a fundamental element in bringing together forces for the success of collective actions. The reverence for leadership of those who were the object of this investigation leads us to suppose that ethos is potentially shared by the members that make up the community. Given that the social group whose actions were not successful was not well represented among those that were the object of this study because it was not able to conclude its quantitative research, the results best express the marked tendency for an ethos of authorship. This exploratory study may motivate other applied social research projects aiming at the development of a model of assessment that may allow those responsible for allocating resources for the economic development of micro regions and mesoregions to gauge more timely actions and investments considering the social environment and the need for objectives to be achieved through sustainable means.
