For believing that the scholarly education exerts an important paper in the person's life and that ones that fail in the school are precociously dispossess of the basic right to learn, this dissertation proposed it to analyze the school failure and its possible overcoming through the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. The present research characterized as a study predominantly descriptive and exploratory searched through the case study to know the view of the repeating students, as well as, the teacher’s attitudes and positions in front of the school failure. The main intention of the datum collection was to try to trace a perspective of the education on the theory of the multiple intelligences being acted mainly on the teacher’s unilateral position. Previous issue date: 2003 / Por acreditar que a educação escolar exerce importante papel na vida da pessoa e que os que fracassam na escola, são precocemente expropriados do direito básico de aprender, esta dissertação se propôs a analisar o fracasso escolar e sua possível superação através da Teoria das Inteligências Múltiplas. A presente pesquisa caracterizada como um estudo predominantemente descritivo e exploratório, buscou através de um estudo de caso, conhecer o olhar dos alunos repetentes bem como as atitudes e posturas de seus professores frente ao fracasso escolar. O propósito fundamental da coleta de dados foi a de tentar traçar uma perspectiva de ensino baseado na teoria das inteligências múltiplas agindo, principalmente, sobre a postura unilateral do professor. Apontar caminhos para a superação do fracasso escolar, através do uso da abordagem teórica das Inteligências Múltiplas, acabou por tornar-se uma das principais constituições deste trabalho.
