Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur kvinnliga patienter med diagnosen reumatoid artrit upplever att leva med sjukdomen. Metoden var litteraturstudie där nio vetenskapliga artiklar låg till grund, dessa granskades utifrån Polits m fl (2001) riktlinjer. Den teoretiska referensramen var Carnevalis (1999) Dagligt Liv & Fuktionellt Hälsotillstånd-modellen. Resultatet presenterades i fyra huvudteman och tio underteman som beskriver kvinnliga patienters upplevelser av att leva med reumatoid artrit. Huvudteman var: fysiska upplevelser, psykiska upplevelser, psykosociala upplevelser och existentiella upplevelser. Detta resultat kan öka sjuksköterskans kunskaper och förståelse för patienter med diagnosen reumatoid artrit, och kan hjälpa sjuksköterskor att bedriva bättre omvårdnad för dessa patienter. / The aim of this study was to describe female patients experiences of living with rheumatoid arthritis. The method was a literature review nine articles met the scientific standards of quality according to Polit m fl (2001) and formed the base for the conclusions of this study. The theoretical frame of reference was Carnevalis (1999) model, Everyday life %u2194 Functional state of health. The result showed four main themes and ten sub themes that illuminate the female patient%u2019s experience of living with rheumatoid arthritis. The main themes were: physical experiences, psychical experiences, psychosocial experiences and existential experiences. This result increases nurses knowledge and understanding for patients with the diagnosis rheumatoid arthritis. The knowledge and understanding helps nurses manage better care of patients with diagnosis RA.
