Det osynliga läraransvaret : Lärares riskuppfattning och riskhantering

The nature of the risks in today's society means that several occupational groups, such as teachers, have to deal with risks in their work. Because women are not being seen as risk managers to the same extent as men, women-dominated professions are not seen as involving risk management in the same extent as men-dominated. The purpose of this study is to examine how teachers' risk understanding and thereby risk management looks like. The method is a qualitative interview study with 16 participating teachers from four different schools. Thematic analysis was used to extrapolate themes from the interviews. The result of the analysis shows that teacher's understanding of the risk entails a balance between visible and invisible requirements as teachers feels a) a prolonged responsibility in and outside the school and are consequently posed b) organizational and resource-related dilemmas. The study contributes to broadening the concept of risk to areas that are traditionally not perceived as seen as risk management   Keywords: risk understanding, risk manager, teacher, gender
