De digitala verktygens betydelse för elevers lärande och motivation : En kvalitativ studie i särskolans verksamhet utifrån ett lärarperspektiv / The importance of digital tools for student´s learning and motivation : A qualitative study in the Compulsory school for pupils with learningdisabilities from a teacher´s perspective

The purpose of our study is to contribute knowledge about teacher´s perceptions of digital tools in compulsory school for pupils with learning disabilities, by examining the use of digital tools. By examining the use of digital tools in teaching in the special school's activities and for what purpose they are used, we want to investigate what importance teachers in the special compulsory school attribute to the digital tools in teaching. By highlighting the possibilities and obstacles of digital technology for students who are taught at the special compulsary school, we want to make visible what the work with the digital tools can look like. Our questions are:• For what purpose are the digital tools used in teaching at the special compulsory school?• What importance do teachers attach to the digital tools in teaching for pupils with learning disabilities in special compulsory school?• What do teachers at the special compulsory school for pupils with learning disabilities think that the work with digital tools is important for the student´s motivation for school work?In this study, we chose a qualitative research approach and to obtain relevant data, we chose to use interviews. The interviews took place digitally with 6 teachers and 4 special teachers at two major special compulsory schools in two different municipalities in central Sweden. In Sweden, there is currently a pandemic that has affected our study as we needed to rethink the selection and collection of data. The study shows that teachers and special teachers attach great importance to digital technology for, among other things, students' participation, and the design of teaching, individualization, documentation and motivation. All teachers use digital tools in teaching at special compulsoryschools to a greater extent today compared to before. The purpose of the use of digital technology varies between teachers. All interviewed teachers and special teachers considered that the digital technology seems motivating for students to work with at the special compulsoryschool.
