<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Researchers differ in their opinions regarding the use of authentic or simplified novels. This paper attempts to clarify some of the different standpoints taken by the advocates for both the authentic and the simplified alternative. However, the aim of the essay is to show the benefits of using authentic literature such as <em>Walkabout</em> by James V.
