__________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This work analyzes life trajectories of young women that qualified for the quota system, and were given admittance to courses of Pedagogy and Law offered by the Federal University of Brasilia (UnB), investigating, too, their family life and the bias, discrimination and stereotypical identification that they found at school and at UnB and whose effects they had to overcome. It also aims at understanding how identities of the feminine gender, race and youth were built at home and in school. Biographical case histories and interviews were assembled in order to help with the understanding of current developments at UnB while it implements the quota policy in view of accepting the rights of the young black female population. Karl Mannheim’s (1926) documentary method of data interpretation (1926) was used in this work as adapted by Ralf Bonsak (1966), as well as Fritz Schütze’s (1981) methodological proposition for the analysis of interview-like narratives. This research offers subsidies for a discussion of introduction of quota policies in Brazil considering the information extracted from knowledge of life patterns at home and in school of students who have been admitted to UnB under the quota system.
