Abstract Titel: Collaboration is a recipe for success Authors: Sascha Liiva och Jenny Nilsson The purpose of this study was to analyze collaboration in practice within the authority exercise of social services in Sweden. Six qualitative research interviews were conducted with social workers within different fields of authority exercise in different municipalities. A qualitative content analysis was used when analyzing the interviews. For analyzing the results, we used organizational culture as a theory and room for action and interaction as theoretical concepts. The study reveals that collaboration is something that is seen as inevitable within social services. Both based on the Swedish Social Service Act and the belief that exist among the social workers, is that collaboration is required to be able to do their work. Furthermore, the results indicate that the size and organizations of the municipality is an influencing factor in making the collaboration work. There is an advantage with collaboration in a smaller municipality, due to vicinity, both between colleagues, other units and managers, which has a substantial meaning in collaboration. Finally, the results suggest that the factors that are a prerequisite for collaboration can also be complicating factors. In conclusion, this study underlines that collaboration is important and that there is a need for collaboration to work both for the social workers and for the clients, as social services have become increasingly specialized and the clients’ problems more complex. Furthermore, there is a need for extensive research on intra-organizational collaboration within exercise of authority in social services. Keywords: Collaboration, intra-organizational, social worker, social services. / Sammanfattning Titel: Samverkan är en framgångsfaktor Författare: Sascha Liiva och Jenny Nilsson Syftet med studien var att analysera samverkan inom socialtjänstens myndighetsutövning. I studien har vi genomfört sex kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer med socialsekreterare inom olika områden av myndighetsutövning, i flertalet kommuner. Vid analysering av intervjuerna användes en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. För att analysera resultatet tillämpades organisationskultur som teori samt handlingsutrymme och interaktion som teoretiska begrepp. Resultatet av studien visar att samverkan är något som ses som ofrånkomligt inom socialtjänsten. Detta både utifrån socialtjänstlagen och föreställningarna som finns hos arbetarna samt att samverkan krävs för att intervjupersonerna ska kunna göra sitt arbete. Vidare belyser resultatet att kommunens storlek och organisering är en påverkande faktor för att samverkan ska fungera, där det visar att det finns en fördel med samverkan i en mindre kommun. Det finns en närhet, både mellan kollegor, andra enheter och till chefer vilket har en betydelse för samverkan. Slutligen visar resultatet att de faktorer som ses som en förutsättning för samverkan, även kan vara de som är försvårande faktorer. Slutsatsen av detta arbete är att samverkan är viktigt samt att det finns ett behov av att samverkan fungerar, både för socialsekreterarna och för klienterna. Socialtjänsten har blivit alltmer specialiserad och klienternas problematik mer komplex. Vi ser därmed ett behov av vidare forskning avseende inomorganisatorisk samverkan i socialtjänstens myndighetsutövning. Nyckelord: Samverkan, inomorganisatorisk, socialsekreterare, socialtjänst
