Allt som vi erbjuder barnen inomhus, ska vi försöka erbjuda utomhus : En kvalitativ studie om förskollärares tankar kring undervisning kopplad till leki utomhusmiljön / Everything that we offer the children indoors, we will try to offer outdoors : A qualitative study of preschool teachers' thoughts on teaching linked to play inthe outdoor environment

The purpose of this thesis was to learn how preschool teachers think aboutteaching linked to play in the outdoor environment. We think it was aninteresting area to research, to just take part of preschool teachers' thoughts onthe subject. The study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with sixlicensed preschool teachers. The collected material was analyzed usingphenomenographic analysis and from a sociocultural perspective with a focuson three key concepts: Context, Artifact and Scaffolding, as well as using ananalysis model. The results describe the preschoolers' own thoughts andexperiences regarding teaching linked to play that takes place in the outdoorenvironment. It describes how teaching and play were conducted throughplanned or unplanned activities and what factors may affect the quality ofteaching. How the preschoolers view the concept of teaching and dependingon the approach that the preschool teacher has, results in how the teachingenvironment becomes. The conclusion of the study was that the outdoorenvironment in the preschool's activities was not fully utilized based onteaching linked to play. That it requires a different type of planning, and thatthere are factors that can influence how this can be conducted.
