The thesis is focused on the maping and use of unconventional technologies of machining, their use for the furniture production and designing of the furniture without metallic or bonded joints with the combination of use of the specific technology of machining. The thesis is divided into several parts: historical development and principles of selected unconventional technologies of machining, their use for the furniture production, types of seating furniture, ergonomic requirements for a given model of furniture, jointing techniques, recherche and design of the selected furniture.
