Entretanto, ainda h? lacunas de informa??es sobre os tra?os de hist?ria de vida para esp?cies de regi?es tropicais, assim como as vari?veis que os influenciam. Conserva??o e manejo eficientes dependem deste tipo de informa??es. Aferimos par?metros demogr?ficos de um Thraupidae tropical, Tangara cayana, em um fragmento de restinga no extremo norte da Mata Atl?ntica. Estimamos sobreviv?ncia aparente, detec??o, dispers?o e tamanho populacional, testando tamb?m como indiv?duos transit?rios, pluviosidade e o sexo dos indiv?duos influenciam as taxas de sobreviv?ncia da popula??o. Analisamos hist?ricos de captura-marca??o-recaptura no programa MARK por meio de modelos de Desenho Robusto. Entre novembro de 2010 e novembro de 2014 marcamos 127 indiv?duos de T. cayana, a partir dos quais estimamos sobreviv?ncia anual menor dos transit?rios (2% a 4%), seguido pelos jovens (12% a 34%) e adultos (machos = 29% a 54%, f?meas = 30% a 55%). Os par?metros de dispers?o (y? = 71%, y? = 73%) e detec??o (captura = 26%; recaptura = 5%) foram constantes, n?o havendo varia??o temporal. A densidade populacional foi de 1,7 indiv?duos/ha. Encontramos uma rela??o negativa entre a pluviosidade e a sobreviv?ncia. Os par?metros demogr?ficos obtidos exibiram valores baixos para o que ? esperado para aves tropicais, os quais podem estar atrelados a grande capacidade de dispers?o da esp?cie, nos levando ? perspectiva que esses padr?es demogr?ficos ainda n?o est?o claros, demandando ainda mais estudos em habitats dessas regi?es. / The evolution of life history and its variability between species is a mystery that has attracted researchers for decades. Demographic studies are used to understand a variation of life history traits along latitudinal and altitudinal environmental gradients. However, there are still gaps in information about life history traits for species in tropical regions, as well as variables that influence them. Efficient conservation and management programs depend on this type of information. We measured demographic parameters of a tropical Thraupide, Tangara cayana, in the northern end of the Atlantic Forest distribution. We estimated apparent survival, detection, dispersion and population size, also testing how transient individuals, rainfall, and sex of individuals influenced population survival rates. We analyzed capture history of marked individuals in program MARK using Robust Design models. Between November 2010 and November 2014 we marked 127 individuals of T. cayana, from which we could observe a lower annual survival of transients (2% to 4%), followed by juveniles (12% to 34%) and adults (males = 29% to 54%, females = 30% to 55%). The dispersion parameters (y?= 71%, y? = 73%) and detection (capture = 26%, recapture = 5%) were constant, with no temporal variation. Population density was 1.7 individuals/ha. We found a negative relationship between rainfall and survival. The demographic parameters estimated showed low values for a tropical bird, which may be linked to the great capacity of dispersion of the species, leading us to the perspective that these demographic patterns are still unclear, requiring further studies on habitats in these regions.
