Min ingång i projektet var att undersöka hur man kan bo värdigt på äldre dagar och vilka behov som uppstår. Undersökningen visade att frånsett att äldre rör sig på mer begränsade ytor så är behoven inte så olika som man kan tro. Istället för att fokusera på äldre har jag därför lagt vikt på en bostad som ska klara livets prövningar oavsett om det gäller ett brutet ben, rullstoll eller ålderdom. Bostaden ska kännas trygg, stabil och beständig. Samtidigt vill jag att den ska värna om den enskilda personens privata sfär och i hela bostadsområdet finns en gradient av olika offentlighetsgrader. Husens konstruktion är ett bärande ytterskal av tegel med bjälklag i betong och sadeltak med en ramverkstakstol i trä. Tegelväggarnas kanalmur har en bärande insida och en skalmur på utsidan. Varje bostad bygger på punkthusprincipen där volymerna adderats på höjden. Man når lägenheterna genom loftgångens trappa eller hissen som kopplar till tre lägenheter per plan. / My starting point in this project was to explore how people in old age can live with dignity and what kind of needs that arises. The investigation revealed that elder moves in more confined spaces but apart from that their needs are not that different as one might think. Instead of focusing on elder, I have emphasized on a home that can withstand the trials of life whether it´d be a broken leg, wheelchair or old age. The housing should feel secure, stable and durable. At the same time, I want it to protect every individual's private sphere and in the residential area there is a gradient of various publicity degrees. The houses' construction is a bearing outer skin of brick with concrete floors and a pitched roof with a roof truss in wood. The brick wall is a double-skin external wall with where the outer skin provides protection against the weather while the inner wall is the loadbearing element. Each residential block is built on a principle where volumes are added vertically. One reaches the apartments by the stairs of the shared access balcony or the elevator that connects three apartments on each floor.
