Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka attityder till den svenska vargstammen i Sverige samt att undersöka betalningsviljan för att bevara denna djurart. Ett ytterligare syfte med denna studie är att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar betalningsviljan. Metoden som användes i denna studie för att uppnå målet är ”Contingent Valuation Method” (CVM). En enkät delades ut i tre städer: Arboga, Stockholm och Luleå. I enkäten presenterades ett hypotetiskt scenario för respondenterna, där det framgår att den nuvarande vargstammen är ineffektiv för en långsiktigt och hållbar överlevnad. Respondenterna skulle ta ställning till en rovdjurspolitik som i sin tur skulle skydda vargen på långsikt genom en ekonomiskt bidragande till en sådan politik. Resultatet visade att majoriteten i Stockholm var för att implementera projektet medan Luleå och Arboga hade lägst stöd för implementeringen. Den genomsnittliga betalningsviljan var 269 kronor för städerna. Det visades också att respondenter från Stockholm hade en högre genomsnittlig betalningsvilja jämfört med Arboga och Luleå. / The main purpose of this study is to investigate the attitude of the Swedish wolves in Sweden by examining the willingness to pay to preserve this species. An additional purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and factors that affect the willingness to pay. The method used in this study to achieve the objective is "Contingent Valuation Method". A survey that was distributed in three cities: Arboga, Stockholm and Luleå. The survey presented a hypothetical scenario for the respondents, which showed that the current wolf population was ineffective for long-term and sustainable survival. Respondents would take a stand for a conservation predator policy that would in turn protect this species in the long run through a financial contribution to this project. The result showed that the majority in Stockholm were to implement this project while Luleå and Arboga had the lowest support for this implementation. The mean willingness to pay was 269 kronor for the entire population. It was also shown that Stockholm had a higher average willingness to pay compared to Arboga and Luleå.
