Porém, a origem das redes sociais precede a tecnologia, estando relacionada a conceitos de confiança, sendo a base das relações sociais contemporâneas. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo apresentar o papel das redes sociais na divulgação dos produtos turísticos, fazendo uma análise da situação atual das agências de turismo do Distrito Federal. Este trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa realizada com 23 agências de turismo do Distrito Federal, para verificar como estas se utilizam das redes sociais na comunicação com seus clientes, em um ambiente tecnológico marcado pela vasta quantidade de informações sobre produtos que são inacessíveis antes de sua aquisição. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The virtual social networks are currently popular tools in social communication, increasingly being used in the marketing business. However, the origin of social networking precedes technology, and is related to concepts of trust, being the foundation of contemporary social relations. The present dissertation aimed to present the role of social media in the spreading of tourism products, analyzing the current situation of Brazilian Federal District tourism agencies. This paper presents a survey of 23 tourism agencies in the Federal District, to verify how they use social media to communicate with its customers, in a technological environment characterized by the vast amount of information on products which are inaccessible prior to its acquisition.
