En el presente trabajo se estudiaron las variaciones cefalométricas de los ángulos formados por los planos base anterior del cráneo, palatino y mandibular en 60 pacientes adenoideos que llegaron al servicio de otorrinolaringología del Centro Médico Naval durante el año 2001, quienes fueron intervenidos quirúrgicamente (adenoidectomía).
Se estudiaron los cefalogramas laterales de los 60 pacientes con hipertrofia adenoidea que fueron operados de las adenoides hace dos años aproximadamente quienes fueron seleccionados en base a sus historias clínicas. Para ello fue necesario la recolección de las radiografías laterales pre quirúrgicos y la toma de las radiografías laterales después de 2 años aproximadamente, o sea en el año 2003, de la operación quirúrgica.
Donde se tuvo en cuenta los análisis de Steiner y de Schwartz, para ello se hizo los trazos cefalométricos, necesarios para el presente estudio, de los siguientes planos.
-Plano Base anterior del cráneo (SN)
-Plano Palatino (ENA-ENP)
-PlanoMandibular (Go-Gn)
Luego se ubicaron los ángulos:
-. Ángulo SN/ENA-ENP
-. Ángulo ENA-ENP/Go-Gn
-. Ángulo SN/Go-Gn
Estos ángulos fueron trazados en las radiografías pre y post adenoidectomia; encontrándose que los promedios del ángulo SN/Go-Gn pre y post quirúrgico son 39.6º y 36.5º respectivamente donde existe una diferencia significativa (p= 0.00) en la variación angular; los promedios del ángulo SN/ENA-ENP pre y post quirúrgico son 8.0º y 7.46º respectivamente donde existe una diferencia significativa (p= 0.035) en la variación angular, y los promedios del ángulo ENA-ENP/Go-Gn pre y post quirúrgico son 29.5º y 28.1º respectivamente donde existe una diferencia significativa (p= 0.00) en la variación angular. Con respecto al sexo no existe diferencia significativa y con respecto a la edad en los pacientes de 9 a 11 años se encontraron una mayor variación cefalométrica entre las radiografías pre y post quirúrgicas con respecto a los otros grupos etáreos.

The lateral cephalometric of the 60 patients was studied with adenoid hipertrofy that were operated two years ago approximately of the adenoides who were selected based on their clinical histories. For it was necessary the gathering of the x-rays lateral surgical pre and the taking of the lateral x-rays after 2 years approximately, that is to say in the year 2003, of the surgical operation.
Where one kept in mind the analyses of Steiner and of Schwartz, for it was made it the lines cephalometrics, necessary for the present study, of the following planes.
-plane Bases previous of the skull (SN)
- Palatine -plane (ENA-ENP)
- Jawbone-plane (Go-Gn)
Then the angles were located:
- Angle SN/ENA-ENP
- Angle ENA-ENP/Go-Gn
- Angle SN/Go-Gn
These angles were traced in the x-rays pre and post adenoidectomia; being that the averages of the angle SN/Go-Gn pre and post surgical they are respectively 39.6º and 36.5º where a significant difference exists (p = 0.00) in the angular variation; the averages of the angle SN/ENA-ENP pre and post surgical they are respectively 8.0º and 7.46º where a significant difference exists (p = 0.035) in the angular variation, and the averages of the angle ENA-ENP/Go-Gn pre and post surgical they are respectively 29.5º and 28.1º where a significant difference exists (p = 0.00) in the angular variation. With regard to the sex significant difference doesn't exist and with regard to the age in the patients of 9 to 11 years were a bigger variation cephalometric among the x-rays pre and post surgical with regard to the other groups .
