Previous issue date: 2009-03-31 / The variability produced from contingent reinforcement to change and / or repetition of
responses has been investigated in behavior analysis. Despite the variability of behavior
have made it the object of working study in operant literature, there are few studies
which demonstrates the introduction of a baseline for evaluating the effects of
manipulation of variables. The study objective was to investigate the variability acting
as a property of behavior from an experiment that sought to verify in a 5 x 5 matrix,
sequences of answers delivered in a Baseline 1 in experimental stages of training, where
the variable was manipulated and a Baseline 2. A second experiment was done to check
if the responding keeps in terms of strengthening the contingent variation / repetition,
and the extinction (FR = 0) maintains or differs responding issue and interfere in the
model of variability. The data have been supported at the selection by consequences
model and also characterizes behavior variation/repetition as an operant. The present
study concludes which variability is maintained in function of the reinforcement. / A variabilidade produzida a partir de reforçamento contingente a variação e/ou
repetição de respostas tem sido investigada em análise do comportamento. Apesar de a
variabilidade comportamental ter tornado-se objeto de estudo na literatura operante,
poucos são os estudos que apresentam a introdução de uma Linha de Base para verificar
a construção da história durante o responder em variação e repetição do participante. O
objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a variabilidade como uma propriedade operante do
comportamento a partir de um experimento que procurou verificar em uma matriz 5 x 5
as seqüências de respostas emitidas em uma Linha de Base 1, em fases experimentais de
Treino, onde houve manipulação experimental e exposição à uma Linha de Base 2. Um
segundo experimento foi feito a fim de verificar se o responder fica em função do
reforço contingente a variação/repetição, se a extinção (FR=0) mantém ou difere o
responder e interfere na variabilidade. Estes dados são apoiados pelo modelo de seleção
por conseqüências e caracteriza a variação e repetição do comportamento como um
operante. O presente estudo teve como conclusão que a variabilidade é mantida em
função de reforçamento.
