Previous issue date: 2014-02-28 / This thesis resulted from a theoretical-descriptive and documental nature investigation, which
sought to analyze environmental education (E.E) in technologist education by the Instituto
Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Estado de Goiás (IFG). This study was
performed based on the survey and analysis of legal instruments at federal level attempting to
identity the determinations concerning the E.E and the documents produced by IFG and their
assimilation in professional education. The considerations produced aimed to verify how the
environmental issues are discussed in the proposals of professional education of technologist
in IFG. The specific objectives were: (a) survey and analyze the main documents of
international discussion forums about E.E. as well as the legal documents produced in Brazil,
related to E.E. in professional education; (b) survey and analyze the main documents
produced in the IFG amenable to highlight their commitment to the implementation of the
E.E.; (c) conduct an analysis of Pedagogical Political Projects of technology courses offered
on Goiania campus, looking for evidence of work with E.E. The problem guiding this
research was: What is the degree of commitment of the IFG with the development of
environmental education, manifested in their official documents? For the understanding the
phenomenon, the research was guided by the historical materialist dialect method. Conducting
investigative referrals, we tried to follow the precepts of qualitative analysis in the treatment
of the obtained data in the legal documents, which legally endorse the environmental and
professional education in Brazil and in IFG, in a historical-critical approach. The importance
of this investigation lies in the fact that despite the significant amount of academic output on
environmental education in Brazil, few reports are available on environmental education in
technical education form, which is essential for sustainable technological development, by
implementing the conscious action of the citizen worker. The results obtained in this research
point to a gap of the IFG, in the implementation of environmental education, in line with the
Federal Legislation of the 1970s, but in disagreement with the text of the FC 88, Federal Law
Nº 9795 and resolution Nº 2 of the National Curriculum Guidelines for environmental
education. / Esta tese resultou de um estudo de cunho teórico-descritivo e documental, que se propôs a
analisar a educação ambiental (EA) na formação do tecnólogo, realizada pelo Instituto Federal
de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Estado de Goiás (IFG). Assim, este estudo se deu a
partir do levantamento e análise dos instrumentos legais da esfera federal, buscando apreender
as determinações acerca da EA e nos documentos produzidos pelo IFG, sua assimilação na
formação profissional. Teve como objetivo verificar como são abordadas as questões
ambientais, nas propostas de formação profissional dos tecnólogos no IFG. Os objetivos
específicos foram: (a) levantar e analisar os principais documentos dos fóruns internacionais
de discussão da EA, assim como os documentos legais produzidos no Brasil, referentes à EA
na formação profissional; (b) levantar e analisar os principais documentos, produzidos no IFG
passíveis de evidenciar seu compromisso com a implementação da EA; (c) efetivar a análise
de Projetos Políticos Pedagógicos de cursos de tecnologia oferecidos no campus Goiânia,
buscando indícios do trabalho com a EA. O problema norteador desta investigação foi: Qual o
grau de comprometimento do IFG com o desenvolvimento da educação ambiental, manifesto
em seus documentos oficiais? Para o entendimento dos fenômenos tomou-se como eixo
norteador à investigação, o método materialista histórico dialético. Na condução dos
encaminhamentos investigativos, seguiu os preceitos da análise qualitativa no tratamento dos
dados obtidos nos documentos legais, que referendam juridicamente a educação ambiental e
profissional no Brasil e no IFG, em uma abordagem histórico crítica. A importância, desta
investigação está no fato de que apesar da quantidade significativa de produção bibliográfica
sobre educação ambiental no Brasil, poucos registros estão disponíveis sobre a educação
ambiental na modalidade de educação tecnológica, elemento essencial para um
desenvolvimento tecnológico sustentável, por meio da implementação da ação consciente do
cidadão trabalhador. Os resultados obtidos nesta investigação, apontam para a defasagem do
IFG na implementação da educação ambiental, coerente com a Legislação Federal da década
de 1970, mas em desacordo com o texto da CF 88, Lei Federal nº 9795 e a Resolução nº 2 das
Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais de Educação Ambiental.
