Previous issue date: 2005-02-10 / The research tried to identify the social representations of teachers about
religious teaching. The investigation was done in a group of fifty teachers who teach
for primary and secondary public school in Goiânia . The methodological reference
was based on the theory of social representations of Moscovici and his followers.The
theory reference was done by some authors of religion sociology like Emile
Durkheim, Peter Berger, Bauman and some others. The techinique of word vocation
and an open question was used in the fieldwork research.The methodology of
discourse analysis was taken as a basis for categorizing the representations.Then it
began an analysis of the religious teaching representations according to the
information gathered and it could identify common elements and gathering
thematically by category. The main result showed the presence of a representation of
religious teaching teachers based on rational comprehension, moral principles and
learning how to respect people and it also emphasized the representation of family
and school. Finally the representation contents showed a proselytical teaching
because there were just christian tradition expressions.One of the great
teachers challenge that teach religious teaching consist in working the religious
phenomenon into a interdisciplinary perspective.It is necessary to research the
epistemologically comprehension which supports the teachers representations about
religious teaching. / A pesquisa tem por objetivo identificar as representações sociais dos
professores acerca da disciplina Ensino Religioso. A investigação teve como sujeitos
50 professores de 1ª a 8ª séries do ensino fundamental da Rede Publica de Ensino
de Goiânia. O referencial teórico e metodológico foi fundamentado à luz da Teoria
das representações sociais com base no conceito de Moscovici e seus seguidores,
bem como alguns autores da Sociologia da Religião, como Émile Durkheim, Berger,
Bauman, entre outros. A pesquisa de campo teve como procedimentos a aplicação
de questionário, utilizando a técnica de evocação de palavras e uma questão aberta.
A metodologia de análise do discurso foi adotada, possibilitando a categorização das
representações. A partir dos dados levantados procedeu-se a uma análise das
representações sobre Religião e Ensino Religioso, buscando identificar elementos
comuns agrupando tematicamente por categorias. Os principais resultados
indicaram a presença de uma representação dos professores sobre Ensino Religioso
baseada numa compreensão racional, porém afetiva quando coloca Deus orientador
de suas ações; num ensino voltado para os valores morais e respeito ao outro
ressaltando a importância da família e escola trabalharem juntas. Por fim, um ensino
ainda proselitista, já que nas representações dos professores foram evidenciadas
somente expressões do cristianismo. Um dos grandes desafios dos professores que
ministram o Ensino Religioso consiste em trabalhar o fenômeno religioso numa
perspectiva interdisciplinar. A pesquisa aponta a necessidade de se investir mais
profundamente na busca de uma compreensão dos fundamentos epistemológicos
que sustentam as representações dos professores acerca do Ensino Religioso.
