Defesa: Curitiba, 29/08/2014 / Inclui referências / Resumo: Em 2001 o estado do Paraná aprovou a Lei 13.134, que ofertava três vagas em todas as Universidades Estaduais para os povos indígenas residentes nas Terras Indígenas nesse estado. A participação da Universidade Federal aconteceu em 2005 com a discussão sobre o Plano de Metas de Inclusão Social para a Universidade Federal do Paraná. No ano seguinte, em 2006, houve uma alteração que acrescentou mais três vagas, totalizando seis vagas para povos indígenas em todas as universidades estaduais. Entretanto, após aprovação da Lei, as universidades foram notificadas e foi exigido delas imediata organização para a normatização do vestibular, que deveria ser realizado no ano seguinte, em 2002. É nesse contexto que dou prosseguimento às pesquisas realizadas até o momento, com enfoque na permanência de alunos kaingang e guarani na Universidade Estadual de Londrina, região norte do Paraná. As experiências vivenciadas por esses sujeitos no ensino superior trazem à tona os desejos, sonhos e motivações que envolvem a busca pela formação acadêmica que não se restringe aos interesses e intenções pessoais, mas envolve ainda as intencionalidades de quem permanece na Terra Indígena e que participa, em alguma medida, desse novo processo de formação. Palavras-chave: universidade; povos indígenas; sonhos; projetos. / Abstract: In 2001, the Paraná State approved the Law 13.134, which offers three vacancies in all of the State Universities for native people residents on Indigenous lands in the state. The participation of the Federal Universities happened in 2005 with the discussion about the Plan of Goals for Social Inclusion for the Paraná Federal University. In 2006, there was a change that added three more vacancies, totaling six vacancies for indigenous people in all over the state's universities. Meanwhile, after the approval of the law, the universities were immediately required for the normalization of the college admission exams, that would have happened in the next year, 2002. It is the context that I continue the research conducted to date, focusing in the permanence of the Kaingang and Guarani students in the Londrina University, Paraná Northern State. The practices experienced by these subjects in higher education bring out the wishes, dreams, and motivation that involves the pursuit of academic education, that is not restricted to personal interests and intentions, but also involves the intentions of those who remain in Indigenous land and, at the same time, participate in this new process of education.
