Defesa: Curitiba, 25/03/2015 / Inclui referências : f. 116-123 / Área de concentração: Exercício e esporte / Resumo: A presente dissertação construiu uma reflexão histórico-sociológica sobre o basquetebol riograndino entre as décadas de 1960 a 1980, dividindo-se em duas partes principais. Na primeira parte da dissertação, tratamos de apresentar nossas ferramentas sociológicas, sejam elas, o olhar sociológico configuracional com o qual nos cercamos para a análise dos dados empíricos; o delineamento do conceito de ethos, com o qual estreitamos nosso olhar para a leitura das entrevistas e, por fim, terminamos na sóciogênese de pequenos grupos, ou seja, utilizamos conceitos mais amplos de leitura da sociedade, para observarmos uma micro configuração. Todos esses conceitos pertencem ao sociólogo alemão Norbert Elias. Na segunda parte da dissertação, apresentamos a sociedade sul-rio-grandense e riograndina de maneira mais ampla, através de uma contextualização histórica da cidade do Rio Grande desde sua fundação, até meados do século XX onde inserimos nossa pesquisa. Logo após essa introdução histórico-geográfica, apresentamos os indivíduos que fizeram parte da pesquisa para introduzirmos a análise de suas memórias e das fotografias da época, que em parte ilustram o momento histórico do qual falamos e em parte circunscrevem a discussão da configuração que montamos para nossa pesquisa. Estabelecida nossa teia de interrelações entre os clubes e jogadores de basquetebol e a sociedade riograndina, interligamos fatos e acontecimentos históricos contados pelos atletas e pelas imagens, com as discussões sociológicas de ethos e sóciogênese, bem como, das discussões de memória. Ainda nessa segunda parte da dissertação delineamos o que acreditamos ser o ethos riograndino da época, através do sentimento de coesão dos clubes de basquetebol e uma parcela da população da cidade. O foco central de análise desses sentimentos foram os relatos dos atletas, que explicitaram uma relação ainda latente entre o basquetebol e a época foco da pesquisa. Por fim apontamos para elementos miméticos estabelecidos entre a sociedade e o basquetebol local, através dos sentimentos de pertencimentos apresentados pelos grupos estudados, bem como as ressonâncias presentes nas entrevistas e evocações daqueles que viveram esta história. História do esporte. / Abstract: This work built a historical-sociological reflection on the riograndino basketball between the decades from 1960 to 1980, divided into two main parts. In the first part of the dissertation, we try to present our sociological tools, whether the configurational sociological perspective with which we surround ourselves to the analysis of empirical data; the design of the concept of ethos, with which narrowed our eyes to read the interviews and, finally finished in the sociogenesis of small groups, that is, we use broader concepts of society of reading, to observe a micro configuration. All these concepts belong to the German sociologist Norbert Elias. In the second part of the dissertation, we present the society sul-rio-grandense and riograndina more broadly, through a historical overview of Rio Grande from its foundation until the mid-twentieth century where we insert our research. Soon after this historical-geographical introduction, we present the individuals who participated in the survey to introduce the analysis of their memories and photographs of the time, partly illustrate the historical moment we speak and partly circumscribe the discussion of configuration that we set up for our research. Established our web interrelationships between clubs and basketball players and the riograndina society, we linked facts and historical events told by athletes and the images, with the sociological discussions of ethos and sociogenesis, as well as the memory discussions. Also in this second part of the dissertation outline what we believe is the riograndino ethos of the time, through the sense of cohesion of basketball clubs and a portion of the city's population. The central focus of analysis of these feelings were reports of athletes who expressed a still latent relationship between basketball and the time the research focus. Finally we point to mimetic elements established between the local society and basketball through the feelings of belongings submitted by studied groups as well as the resonances present in the interviews and evocations of those who lived this story. .
