Previous issue date: 2017-08-31 / Retirement for the elderly usually beacon entrance into a new cycle of life permeated by changes, expectations, experiences and meanings, is the pace of life, the break from the work, or in the new social relations and life projects. This requires the elderly to adapt, elaborate and appropriate this time from retirement. Thus, understanding the meanings that seniors attribute to retirement time, in their reality, means understanding the complexity of their content, since time is a significant fundamental resource, since time is life. Given this, this study aims to investigate what meanings the elderly attribute to the time of retirement. It starts from the presuppositions that this time, in the contemporaneity, transcends the rest and the recollection and allows a more meaningful experience in the concretization of the projects of greater approximation with the family, leisure and leisure. The study is configured as exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted in Fortaleza, but specifically at the headquarters of the Association of Retirees of Banco do Nordeste - ABNB with former bank elderly. For the data collection, two instruments were used: Free Word Association Test (TALP) and the semistructured interview with a script of open questions. The technique of the Collective Subject Discourse (DSC) was used to analyze them. The results of the TALP indicated that the prevalent words regarding the meaning of this time refer to family and leisure, which were also the most important and most frequent words in the evocations by the elderly interviewed. The interviews revealed that the meanings of the time of retirement attributed by the elderly are linked to: flexibility of schedules, moment of opportunity and time of nostalgia; the activities most evidenced at this time were: traveling, playing with the grandchildren, reading, writing, acquiring new knowledge, health care, hobby's practice and volunteer activities. Thus, it is inferred that the time coming from retirement is elaborated and experienced from different perspectives, especially for the accomplishment of activities aimed at leisure and the family, having as main factor the freedom to handle their own time.

Free time. / A aposentadoria para o idoso normalmente baliza o ingresso em um novo ciclo de vida permeado por mudanças, expectativas, experiências e significados, seja no ritmo de vida, na ruptura com o labor, ou nas novas relações sociais e projetos de vida. Isso exige do idoso adaptação, elaboração e apropriação desse tempo advindo da aposentadoria. Assim, compreender os significados que os idosos atribuem ao tempo da aposentadoria, na sua realidade, significa entender a complexidade do seu conteúdo, pois o tempo é um recurso fundamental significativo, uma vez que tempo é vida. Diante disso, este estudo tem como objetivo investigar que significados os idosos atribuem ao tempo da aposentadoria. Parte-se dos pressupostos de que este tempo, na contemporaneidade, transcende o descanso e o recolhimento e possibilita uma vivência mais significativa na concretização dos projetos de maior aproximação com a família, lazer e ócio. O estudo se configura como exploratório e descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, tendo sido realizado no município de Fortaleza, mas especificamente, na sede da Associação dos Aposentados do Banco do Nordeste ¿ ABNB com os ex-bancários idosos. Para a coleta de dados, utilizaram-se dois instrumentos: Teste de Associação Livre de Palavras (TALP) e a entrevista semiestruturada com um roteiro de perguntas abertas. Recorreu-se a técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo (DSC) para análises dos mesmos. Os resultados do TALP apontaram que as palavras prevalentes quanto ao significado deste tempo se referem à família e ao lazer, que constituíram também as palavras mais importantes e de maior frequência nas evocações por parte dos idosos entrevistados. As entrevistas revelaram que os significados do tempo da aposentadoria atribuído pelos idosos estão atrelados à: flexibilidade de horários, momento de oportunidades e tempo de nostalgia; as atividades mais evidenciadas neste tempo foram: viajar, brincar com os netos, ler, escrever, adquirir novos conhecimentos, cuidados com a saúde, pratica de hobby¿s e atividades voluntárias. Assim, infere-se que o tempo advindo da aposentadoria é elaborado e vivenciado sob diferentes perspectivas, em especial para a realização de atividades voltadas para o lazer e para a família, tendo como principal fator a liberdade para lidar com o próprio tempo.
