Previous issue date: 2018-11-23 / The elderly population represents a global challenge that demands strategic actions to guarantee health. The experiences of the elderly with ideations and suicide attempts reveal the difficulties in accepting the reduction of the personal autonomy, contrariety with the ingratitude of family members and affective nonconformity with losses in the course of life. Faced with the phenomenon, the question was: does the use of an application by caregivers of the elderly facilitate the identification of suicidal ideation and attempt, helping to make coherent decisions? This study aimed to validate a m-Health technology for suicide prevention in the elderly - PREVSU, with caregivers and specialists who attend the elderly in the home. This is an applied and evaluative research, carried out in the technology laboratory of the University of Fortaleza (NATI) and in the homes in which the caregivers of the elderly act as home care managed by the Institute of Social Security of the Municipality of Fortaleza. Ten professionals and twenty five caregivers of the elderly participated in the study. The data collection took place from May to July 2018, after consulting the Research Ethics Committee. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and discussed according to literature. Caregivers validated the application, assessing usability with an emphasis on the artifact images, content, and interfaces (screens). It was suggested that only the screen image: Map with points of support be modified, since the users found difficulties in the identification of the existing figures in the map. The experts validated PrevSU regarding the objectives, structure and presentation and relevance of the application. For the judges, the questions: "Promotion of behavioral changes in users in relation to decision-making in alert cases"; "Dissemination in the scientific environment in the area of ¿¿the health of the elderly"; "Clear and objective language"; "Information presented scientifically correct" were classified as fully adequate, according to the established parameters. Regarding the question of "Material appropriate to the socio-cultural level of the proposed target public," the evaluators considered it partially adequate. It is concluded that the application PrevSU helps elderly caregivers to identify early suicide ideations and attempts and contribute to decision making and suicide prevention in the elderly. / A população de idosos representa um desafio mundial que demanda de ações estratégicas para garantir a saúde. As experiências dos idosos com ideações e tentativas de suicídio revelam as dificuldades em aceitar a redução da autonomia pessoal, contrariedade com a ingratidão de familiares e inconformismo afetivo com perdas no decorrer da vida. Diante do fenômeno questionou-se: o uso de um aplicativo pelos cuidadores de idosos facilita a identificação de ideação e tentativa de suicídio, auxiliando na tomada de decisões coerentes? Neste estudo objetivou-se validar uma tecnologia m-Health para prevenção de suicídio em idosos- PREVSU, com cuidadores e especialistas que atendem os idosos no domicílio. Trata-se de uma pesquisa aplicada e avaliativa, realizada no laboratório de tecnologia da Universidade de Fortaleza (NATI) e nos domicílios nos quais os cuidadores de idosos atuam em caráter de home care administrado pelo Instituto de Previdência do Município de Fortaleza. Participaram do estudo dez profissionais e vinte e cinco cuidadores de idosos. A coleta de dados ocorreu no período de maio a julho de 2018, após parecer do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa. Os dados foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e discutidos conforme literatura. Os cuidadores validaram o aplicativo, avaliando a usabilidade com ênfase nas imagens, no conteúdo e nas interfaces (telas) do artefato. Sendo sugerido que somente a imagem da tela: Mapa com pontos de apoio fosse modificado, pois os usuários encontraram dificuldades na identificação das figuras existentes no mapa. Os especialistas validaram o PrevSU quanto aos objetivos, a estrutura e apresentação e a relevância do aplicativo. Para os juízes, os quesitos: ¿Promoção das mudanças de comportamento nos usuários em relação à tomada de decisão em casos de alerta¿; ¿Divulgação no meio científico na área da saúde do idoso¿; ¿Linguagem clara e objetiva¿; ¿Informações apresentadas cientificamente corretas¿, foram classificadas como totalmente adequadas, de acordo com os parâmetros estabelecidos. Quanto ao quesito de ¿Material apropriado ao nível sociocultural do público-alvo proposto¿, os avaliadores julgaram parcialmente adequados. Conclui-se que o aplicativo PrevSU auxilia os cuidadores de idosos a identificarem precocemente ideações e tentativas de suicídio e contribuem para a tomada de decisão e prevenção de suicídio em idosos.
