Cooperativismo : uma nova cultura no mundo do trabalho? / In this work, we analyzed the relation among spectacle, death and neighbor s value from a crime committed in public, that involved a child and an adult: the Cocada crime, which happened in front of a machine shop in Fortaleza (CE). We lead this study in the light of Psychoanalysis with Freud, Lacan and contemporary authors, establishing a dialogue with Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Journalism and Law. The general objective is to contribute to the construction of knowledge about the function of the spectacle of the death in its reference with value attributed to the neighbor, considering the relation between the subject-witness and the object-crime scene. The specific objectives are: identify representations of the crime scene, examine the meanings of death, neighbor s value, and analyze the relation between crime and father function to provide benefits for science, society and university. We also worked the analogy among violence, mass media, consumption and these spectacles. The methodology is characterized by the qualitative approach, halfstructuralized interviews with the witnesses and for the categorization of theory and data, interpreted through association maps of ideas. From analysis of the data, we found the crime scene associated with the death of a son, a mother, oneself and an animal. The meaning of death pointed to humanization and banalization, depending on who occupied the place of the dead neighbor: a beloved one, oneself, a stranger or the victim. About the neighbor s value a meaning of banalization was attributed. The non-observance of the legal laws illustrated the weakness of the father function. We consider at last that meanings attributed to the death, to the neighbor, and the weakness of the legal law make possible to these spectacles of the death to happen nowadays. Key-words: Spectacle, Death, Neighbor s Value, Object Relation, Psychoanalysis.
