Previous issue date: 2013-08-13 / The study investigates the inclusion in the university, emphasizing the admittance of a deaf student in the course of Master‟s in Education of the Federal University of Espirito Santo (UFES). Its goal is the analysis and discussion of the inclusion policies that facilitate the admittance and the search for continuance of a deaf student at the Federal University of Espirito Santo. Professors, students of the Master‟s class number 25, workers of the administrative area as well as managers were interviewed. The data collection was made from 2011 to 2012. The research is a case study, having Lev Vygotsky is the theoretical reference. The gathered data
were categorized into two thematic bases and subdivided. Base 1: The trajectory to the University; The arrival at undergraduation; Base 2: The policies related to people with deficiency at UFES; The organization of the program; The teaching practice; The question of how to interpret the Brazilian sign of languages; The relationship among students. It was concluded that UFES has been trying to promote inclusive actions, adapting the Entrance Examinations,
changing its physical structure and hiring professionals that are able to deal with people who are deficient. Nevertheless, many actions still demand accomplishment, such as the development of a center for the follow up of these students. Both the coordination of the PPGE, and professors, students and workers did their best so that the deaf student could have access to knowledge and develop his studies. But we can see that there is lack of articulation among those involved in
the process, for the interviewed pointed out that more communication is necessary. We hope the results can provide information that contributes with the discussion of inclusion in the university context / O trabalho investiga a inclusão no ensino superior, com ênfase no ingresso de um aluno surdo no curso de Mestrado em Educação da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo
(UFES). O objetivo é analisar e discutir as políticas de inclusão da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo que viabilizam o acesso e a busca de permanência de um estudante surdo. Foram realizadas entrevistas com professores, estudantes da turma 25 de mestrado, funcionários técnicos- administrativos, e gestores. A coleta de dados compreendeu o período de 2011 à 2012. A pesquisa trata-se de um estudo de caso, tendo Lev Vygotsky como teórico de referência. Os dados obtidos foram categorizados em 2 eixos temáticos e subdivididos: Eixo1: A trajetória até a universidade; A chegada na graduação; Eixo 2 : As políticas para pessoas com deficiência na UFES; A
organização do programa; As práticas docentes; A questão do intérprete em língua brasileira de sinais; As relações entre estudantes. Constatou-se que a UFES vem tentando promover ações inclusivas, adaptando as provas dos vestibulares,
modificando sua estrutura física e contratando profissionais para atender pessoas com deficiência. Entretanto ainda existem muitas ações a serem realizadas, como por exemplo, a criação de um núcleo de acompanhamento desses alunos. Em relação ao aluno surdo, de modo geral, tanto a coordenação do PPGE, quanto professores, estudantes e funcionários tentaram na medida do possível, propiciar que este, tivesse
acesso ao conhecimento e desenvolvesse seus estudos. Entretanto percebe-se que deveria ter uma maior articulação entre todos os envolvidos no processo. A falta de comunicação foi um dos problemas observados pelos entrevistados. Espera-se que os resultados forneçam subsídios que contribuam para as discussões sobre a inclusão no
contexto universitário
