Previous issue date: 2009-02-11 / The Poetic of Chico Buarque limited to decades of 1960 and 1970 was classified by Adélia Bezerra de Meneses as poetry of the resistance. For her, the chicobuarquiana poetic takes its role of resistant for be involved with a disturbed historic-social period, which the military was in control of the Brazilian national political scenery. For this reason, the poetic work of Chico Buarque had no option excepting to oppose the reality in which was inserted. Such opposition happened in different ways: sometimes combating the current oppression (critical side), sometimes trying to recuperate the harmonious moments of the past (lyricism nostalgic) and sometimes projecting an ideal time and space where the man would live in a more just and worthy way (utopian variant).
The central goal of this research is to verify if the poetic work of Chico Buarque continues to maintain this critical stance after the period dictatorial, resisting the present reality, in other words the chicobuarquiana poetic persists in resisting the current reality even after the fall of the military government in Brazil?
To achieve this search, we will work chicobuarquiana poetic production of the last twenty six years in an attempt to verify whether the compositions of Chico Buarque still keep one of the strong characteristics of resistance of poetry: to deny the reality oppressive, through the proposition of a time and space in where the man can find the harmony and the pleasure of living, in other words through the proposition of utopia / A poética de Chico Buarque circunscrita às décadas de 1960 e 1970 foi classificada por Adélia Bezerra de Meneses de poesia de resistência. Para tal estudiosa, a poética chicobuarquiana assume seu papel de resistente por estar envolvida com um período histórico-social conturbado, no qual os militares comandavam o cenário político nacional brasileiro. Por esse motivo, afirma que a obra poética de Chico Buarque não tinha outra opção a não ser a de se opor à realidade em que se inseria. Tal oposição se deu de diferentes maneiras: ora combatendo a opressão vigente (vertente crítica), ora procurando recuperar momentos harmoniosos do passado (lirismo nostálgico), ora projetando um tempo e um espaço ideais, em que o homem pudesse viver de maneira mais justa e digna (variante utópica).
O objetivo central da presente pesquisa é o de verificar se a obra poética de Chico Buarque continua a manter essa postura crítica após o período ditatorial, resistindo à realidade presente, ou seja, a poética chicobuarquiana persiste em resistir à realidade vigente mesmo após a queda do governo militar no Brasil?
Para realizar esta pesquisa, trabalharemos com a produção poética chicobuarquiana dos últimos vinte e seis anos na tentativa de verificar se as composições de Chico Buarque mantêm ainda uma das características marcantes da poesia de resistência: a de negar a realidade opressora, por meio da proposição de um tempo-espaço em que o homem encontre a harmonia e o prazer de viver, ou seja, pela proposição da utopia
