Previous issue date: 2013-02-20 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation aims to make a reflection on the teaching of Geometry Space in the final years of elementary school. For this, we present some historical motivations of the development of Geometry and suggest the use of History of Mathematics as a teaching methodology in the classroom. We make a brief report on the Reform of the Teaching of Mathematics, addressing his influence on the teaching of Geometry, and present the suggestions included in the current curriculum proposals in terms of the teaching of Geometry Space at this level of education. We approach other methodological proposals for the teaching of this subject, such as the use of concrete materials, technological resources and the use of tridimensional objects in problem solving. We also report a survey applied to some teachers in order to identify which strategies they have used to teach Space Geometry in Elementary Education and what are the main difficulties encountered by them in applying these methodologies. / Esta dissertação tem o objetivo de fazer uma reflexão sobre o ensino de Geometria Espacial nos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental. Para isso, apresentamos algumas motivações históricas do desenvolvimento da Geometria e sugerimos o uso da História da Matemática como metodologia de ensino em sala de aula. Fazemos um breve relato sobre a Reforma do Ensino de Matemática, abordando sua influência no ensino da Geometria, e apresentamos o que as propostas curriculares vigentes sugerem em termos do ensino de Geometria Espacial neste nível de escolaridade. Trazemos outras propostas metodológicas para o ensino deste tema, como o uso de materiais concretos, recursos tecnológicos e a utilização de objetos espaciais na resolução de problemas. Relatamos também uma pesquisa feita com alguns professores para identificar quais as estratégias que eles têm usado para ensinar Geometria Espacial no Ensino Fundamental e quais as principais dificuldades encontradas por eles na aplicação das metodologias.
