Previous issue date: 2015-05-18 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / O presente trabalho teve o intuito de analisar a atuação dos Clubes 4-S em Minas Gerais, por meio do trabalho da Empresa de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural do Estado de Minas Gerais (EMATER-MG). A partir de uma pesquisa documental no acervo de documentos da EMATER-MG e da realização de entrevistas com extensionistas que trabalharam durante a vigência do Clube 4-S, foi possível formular uma narrativa sobre a história da Extensão Rural e sua atuação na vida da Juventude Rural mineira entre as décadas de 1950 a 1980. Foi possível identificar que a implantação do Clube 4-S em Minas Gerais possibilitou mudanças no meio rural, no entanto, algumas transformações não alcançaram toda juventude, o que culminou em um processo de exclusão no meio rural. / This study aimed to analyze the performance of the 4 -S Clubs in Minas Gerais, through the Company's work Technical Assistance and Rural Extension of the State of Minas Gerais (EMATER -MG). From documentary research in the collection of documents of EMATER -MG and interviews with extension workers that worked during the term of the 4-S Club, it was possible to formulate a narrative about the history of the Rural Extension and their role in rural youth of life mining from the 1950 to 1980. It was possible to identify that the implementation of the 4-S Club in Minas Gerais possible changes in rural areas, however, some changes did not reach all youth, culminating in a process of exclusion in half rural.
