Previous issue date: 2016-06-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A partir da década de 1980, houve um aumento na criação de assentamentos rurais da reforma agrária no Brasil. No entanto, em muitos casos esses assentamentos foram criados em áreas que apresentavam grandes passivos ambientais. Contudo, a partir das mudanças na legislação ambiental, principalmente com a criação de novas Resoluções do Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente - CONAMA, observou-se que, há um descompasso entre a interpretação do Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária quanto a essas mudanças e suas ações concretas com vista à conservação e recuperação dos recursos naturais existentes nesses ambientes, sobretudo aquelas direcionadas às Áreas de Preservação Ambiental e as destinadas ao estabelecimento das Reservas Legais. Nesse sentido, esse estudo apresentou como objetivo geral a análise dos dilemas em torno das práticas de conservação ambiental dessas áreas protegidas por lei no contexto dos Projetos de Assentamento Emiliano Zapata e Flávia Nunes, localizados no município de Uberlândia, mesorregião do Triângulo Mineiro/Alto Paranaíba, Minas Gerais. Para isso, foi adotada, dentre outras técnicas tradicionais de pesquisa, a utilização do Mapeamento Participativo construído junto às comunidades analisadas, que possibilitaram, através das informações dos moradores dos assentamentos, a elucidação das principais dificuldades enfrentadas quanto à conservação e recuperação dos recursos naturais existentes na comunidade. / In Brazil since the 1980 decade, there was an increase in the creation of rural settlements of the land reform. Even though, in many cases these settlements were created in areas, which presented big environmental passives. However, from the environmental legislation changing, mainly after the creation of the new Resolutions of the National Environment Council – CONAMA, it was observed that there is a disorder between the interpretation of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform in relation to the changes in the concrete actions with the view to the conservation and recuperation of natural recourses which exist in these environments, especially in the Legal Preservation Areas and the ones which are destined to the establishment of the Reserves. In this sense, this study presented as the general aims analyze the dilemmas around the practice of environmental conservation in the areas protected by law in the Settlement Projects Emiliano Zapata and Flávia Nunes context, located in the Uberlândia city, mesoregion of Triangulo Mineiro/Alto Paranaíba, Minas Gerais state. For this, it was adopted among the traditional research technics the utilization of the Participatory mapping built on the surveyed communities, what provided us through the information of the settlements residents about their bigger difficulties in relation to the conservation and recuperation of the natural recourses which exist in the community.
