A dinâmica inovadora das mudanças socioeconômicas e científicas traz novas perspectivas axiológicas que relacionam cultura com eficiência econômica. Nesse sentido, promove difusão de valores comuns aos grupos de pessoas que aumentam a demanda por produtos e serviços culturais. Diante deste contexto, algumas cidades souberam se reinventar e assim se destacaram a partir da criatividade, desenvolvendo uma economia que se move ao redor de ativos intangíveis e simbólicos, no fortalecimento de setores tradicionais da economia. Atualmente, cidades assim desfrutam de forte crescimento urbano e alta qualidade de vida. Por outro lado, a complexidade das metrópoles faz do trabalho desse tema um grande desafio, entretanto aponta uma enorme oportunidade de desenvolvimento socioeconômico para sua população. Neste sentido, a presente pesquisa se configura como uma proposta de investigação acerca do potencial criativo da cidade de Boa Vista, capital de Roraima, frente à sua realidade multi e intercultural, buscando destacar elementos da economia criativa como uma possibilidade a mais de geração de renda, na contribuição de seu desenvolvimento socioeconômico sustentável, a partir de princípios norteadores para as cidades criativas. Para o desenvolvimento deste estudo foi utilizado o método de pesquisa tipo descritiva, sob a orientação da ciência econômica. A partir da observação do espaço urbano de Boa Vista, buscou estabelecer comparação com cidades que passaram por um processo de reinvenção urbana, apostando na criatividade de sua população, através da avaliação de ambientes criativos, percepção e comportamento de sua população frente a questões econômicas, sociais e culturais. Adicionalmente discutem-se alguns direcionamentos de ações públicas e privadas capazes de promover condições para Boa Vista se tornar uma cidade criativa. / The innovative dynamics of the changes socioeconomics and scientific brings new perspectives axiological that relate culture with economical efficiency. In that sense, it promotes diffusion of values common to the people's groups that increase the demand for products and cultural services. So, some cities knew how to reinvent standing out starting from the creativity, developing an economy that moves around of intangible and symbolic assets, in the invigoration of traditional sections of the economy. Now, they enjoy strong urban growth and high life quality. On the other hand, the complexity of the metropolises does a great challenge of the work of that theme, however it points an enormous opportunity of socioeconomic development for its population. In this sense, the present research configures itself as an investigation proposal concerning the creative potential of the city of Boa Vista, capital of Roraima, front its reality multi and intercultural, looking for to detach elements of the creative economy as a possibility the more of generation of income, in the contribution for its development maintainable socioeconomic, starting from beginnings guides for the creative cities. For the development of this study the descriptive method of research type was used, under the orientation of the economical science. Starting from the observation of the urban space of Boa Vista, it was looked for to establish comparison with cities that went by a process of urban (re)invention, betting in the creativity of his/her population, through the evaluation of creative atmospheres, perception and behavior of his/her population front to subjects economical, social and cultural. Additionally, some directrix of public and private actions are discussed capable to promote conditions for Boa Vista to become a creative city.
